Heard On The Street

Santa Monica, CA: “Yesterday afternoon two of my friends and I were at the 3rd street promenade near one of the information signs. We were trying to determine the location of a movie theater onSecond Street. One of your ambassadors approached us to see if she could assist us.  She was so friendly and open and seemed genuinely interested in helping us. She was able to readily answer our question. 

Because one of the people who was with me has significant walking challenges, I told my group that I could walk down and see what was playing.  She heard this and told us that she could get this info for us. Using her "walkie," she contacted another ambassador who not only found out what movies were playing but also the times. During this time, another of your ambassadors stopped by to see if she could also help.

I have to say that I have never experienced this level of assistance anywhere.  And, even more importantly, both Ambassadors were so clearly service-oriented and seemed so genuinely pleased to be helping us.  Their smiles alone made our day. It was simply a delightful experience. Thank you very much for this service, and please extend our gratitude to all involved.

Santa Monica, CA: "My family was in Santa Monica earlier this week and had the pleasure of meeting an Ambassador while having a drink at a bar on the 3rd Street Promenade.  He was kind enough to take a family photo and declined our offer of a gratuity.  The ambassador program is a great idea and he made us feel welcome without making us feel like tourists.  We have visited the Promenade several times in the past and were pleased to see that it seems to be livelier and more interesting than it was during our previous visit.  Our son will be attending college at Harvey Mudd College starting this summer, so we look forward to many more visits to the LA area in the coming years, and will look forward in particular to visiting the Santa Monica Promenade.  Thank you!"
