The Rosslyn BID collected 119 bags of donated clothing from 30 commercial and residential building throughout Rosslyn – doubling its total from last year’s collection.

The clothing will be distributed to the homeless clients of A-SPAN (Arlington Street People’s Assistance Network).

The LIGHT UP Rosslyn, Light Up a Life campaign is a month-long warm winter clothing drive which began on Nov. 7. The Rosslyn BID placed collection bins in the lobbies of 30 offices and residential buildings around Rosslyn.

The Light Up a Life clothing drive is paired with the LIGHT UP Rosslyn ceremony when the rooftops of nearly 40 Rosslyn buildings are illuminated from Dec. 6 to Jan. 15, showing off the only skyline in the metro DC area.

“LIGHT UP Rosslyn is not just about Rosslyn’s amazing skyline,” said Cecilia Cassidy, executive director of the Rosslyn BID. “It’s also about helping and lighting up the lives our neighbors.”
