Enhance the perception of cleanliness and safety in the downtown core. Safety Ambassadors patrol delivering good will and hospitality on behalf of DTSB. Cleaning Ambassadors provide maintenance to the enhanced streetscape, consisting of numerous flowers planters and hanging baskets. Cleaning staff also maintain the general appearance by tending to litter, graffiti, weeds and special projects, which will enhance the service district. Ambassador program provides safety, cleaning and venue set up for DTSB’s many events during the year.

South Bend, IN: “I just wanted to let you know how very much we appreciate the changes we have seen already in the Wayne Street Garage!  I came in this morning, and there was a very friendly gentleman washing down the stairwell railings and doorframes.  It looks so much better!!”

South Bend, IN: "I was in the Rotary Board meeting this morning at LaSalle Grille (7:30-9:00 AM), and looking out the window of the ground floor, south down Woodward Court, I observed one of the DTSB Ambassadors doing a very thorough job tidying up that “alley.”  Picking up litter on up and down that block, waving to people going by, and I thought to myself, we are fortunate to have DTSB and its staff here in our city.  I then left our office at lunch, and I bumped into the same Ambassador, and I told her I noticed her efforts.  Thanks, in particular, to this Ambassador and to DTSB in the broader sense.  I appreciate DTSB’s efforts on the streets and in the parking facilities – thank you!"
