San Antonio, TX: "I was recently visiting San Antonio for a conference. Dining on the River Walk, my daughter threw in some bread in the river for the ducks...along with a plastic tiny toy that was a treasure to her.
Coincidentally, along came a uniformed Ambassador, and I asked him to help. Rather than dismissing it as another ridiculous tourist incident, he radioed in and attempted to have someone come with a net. They were between shifts. Did he give up? No. He called the next boat captain and asked the captain to slow the boat as it got near the tiny toy floating in the middle of the river.
While both men could have ignored the situation or blown it off as silly (which it was not to the five-year-old), both rose to the occasion and made a group's day...along with those on the boat and the bank of the river who were aware of the "tragedy" and the sobs of the five-year-old.
In a world where caring often is sparse, both men went out of their way to make a little girl's day.
Thank you so much, and a big thanks to the Ambassadors!"

San Antonio, TX: "The Amigos made me want to throw away my GPS. I have never been to a city with such HELPFUL information Ambassadors. I have traveled the world without and been to many major cities and have never had the pleasure of the knowledge and information that the Amigos provided. My time in San Antonio was definitely more memorable because of them. Great job!!!"

San Antonio, TX: “I met a young woman on the River Walk yesterday who is an employee of Centro. She was extremely polite and knowledgeable. She was a real pleasure to talk with about your beautiful city. She was the only one who knew the name of the big black birds on the River Walk (Tritropic Camerons).
I was so impressed I offered her a position with my company at considerably more money than she is currently making, but she turned me down. She said she loves what she does, and I suspect you have a large part to play in her job satisfaction. You’re lucky to have her,and she is a real asset to your organization and to the city of San Antonio.”

San Antonio, TX: “I was visiting San Antonio for the first time and went to see the Alamo and tour downtown. During my time in the park, I received an upsetting phone call from back home and in my frenzy walked away and left my purse sitting on a park bench. It was not until two hours later I realized, after getting the crisis averted, that I had left my purse somewhere.
My husband and I decided to go back down to the park and see if just maybe we might get lucky and it still be there. Of course that was not the case. We saw a very small, sweet-looking lady in a bright yellow shirt and park ranger type hat and decided we would see if maybe she had seen it. She very kindly said, “No, but let me walk with you over to the visitors center and see if maybe someone had turned in the purse.” When I walked in two very nice ladies asked if they could help. I explained my problem. The lady said that a very nice elderly couple came in about an hour ago and said if someone came in asking about a blue purse to send them to the Park Police office and they had turned it in there.
The sweet lady in the yellow shirt and park ranger hat quickly spoke up and said “Let’s go! I will show you where you need to go.” She walked with my husband and me to the police office behind the Alamo where two very nice Texas Rangers helped me and gladly gave me my purse back. I thanked them over and over and I then turned to the sweet little lady who had been by my side since asking her for help and thanked her over and over.
It is rare that you find such helpful people. Amazingly every item was in my purse. Your Ambassador really made what had begun a horrible day into a great day. With all the negativity we hear in the news today and the busy life I lead, I had begun to feel that no good people are left in the world. San Antonio helped me see that is certainly not the case. God bless each of the people who touched my life that day and God bless your beautiful city!”

San Antonio, TX: “Last week, during my visit to San Antonio, I became ill and needed medical supplies for my diabetes. Having been to two pharmacies without finding what I needed, I was both exhausted and lost.
I cannot begin to express my thanks and deep gratitude for your kindness to me. Walking me to the pharmacy and then back to my hotel to make sure I was safe was beyond the call of duty. I do so appreciate your help. Thank you again!”

San Antonio, TX: "My husband and I are visiting your city from Washington state, near Tacoma and Seattle. We have noticed how clean your city is and how polite your workers are. We are impressed. We stopped an Ambassador to thank him for all his work and to all who clean and maintain the city. This city is loved with pride by those who live here and work here and it shows. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in your lovely city. Thanks to you, the Ambassadors, and to everyone!"
